     A long time ago, I expressed my dislike for Terry Richardson and his personal life; however, I cannot deny his talent. He is an amazing photgrapher, and captures some of the most simple, yet detailed shots of your favorite celebrities. You're no one until you've had a photo shoot with Terry Richardson some even say.
     He's just done a shoot with one of my favorite Pop artists, Ke$ha and I'm very impressed. She is the epitome of bad ass, and her lyrics will definitely make your weekend a better one. Take a look at the photo collection, and take a listen to some of her music to get the weekend started.

Beyonce X Complex

Beysus (like?) covered the August/September issue of Complex magazine. I have no words for it, I just want you to see. The pictures are gorgeous. Beyonce is flawless. In the magazine she touched base on being compared to other artists (more specifically Kelly Rowland), and many other things. I have the deets below. You can simply label this woman BAD.

"Where does she go? Wherever the f*&k she wants to. Bey has spent the last 15 years paying dues. Now a worldwide icon, she has set her heart and mind to establishing a legacy that she’s determined will be dictated by artistic freedom. She’s not afraid of turning 30. If anything, the world should be afraid of her turning 30."

On being compared to other female artists:
“There is room on this earth for many queens,” “I have an authentic, God-given talent, drive, and longevity that will always separate me from everyone else. I’ve been fortunate to accomplish things that the younger generation of queens dream of accomplishing. I have no desire for anyone else’s throne. I am very comfortable in the throne I’ve been building for the past 15 years.”

On inspiration for "4"
Dissatisfied with the state of contemporary radio, she set about brewing a concoction entirely of her own design, based on influences you’d expect her to cite, as well as ones that might surprise. “Figuring out a way to get R&B back on the radio is challenging,” she explains. “Everything sounds the same on the radio. With 4 I tried to mix R&B from the ’70s and the ’90s with rock ‘n’ roll and a lot of horns to create something new and exciting. I wanted musical changes, bridges, vibrata, live instrumentation, and classic songwriting.”

On Jay-Z
“Jay’s music is more than music. His lyrics have fathered generations,” she says of her husband of three years. “All that he has overcome gives millions so much hope. There are moments when I see his lips moving and I can see lyrics floating above his head and I think, ‘Wow! How did I get so lucky to be able to witness this level of genius so closely?’”

On handling her feelings
Whenever I feel bad, I use that feeling to motivate me to work harder,” says a much wiser, more mature Beyoncé, who learned from some early ordeals, including a period of depression during the first breakup of her first group, Destiny’s Child. “I only allow myself one day to feel sorry for myself. People who complain really get on my nerves. When I’m not feeling my best I ask myself, ‘What are you gonna do about it?’ I use the negativity to fuel the transformation into a better me.”

Year of 4

Beyonce is the most hardworking R&B/Pop star to date. Yes, I said it. For 16 years, she has been storming each and every stage, and complains not on bit. Her new album, "4", is simply amazing. I've been a fan of Beyonce since Destiny's Child days; or how she would put it "Since 16 in my stillettos, been strutting in this game" (Diva). An album review is in order for her new album though. The sounds are absolutely fantastic. It's the Beyonce I've been waiting to come out. Recently, VH1 and BET aired a documentary titled "Year of 4" showing Beyonce, and her journey to make this amazing album.

Morning Muse

     Good Morning! I've been blogging for about two years now, and I've never thought to share with you some of my morning routines (which does vary). This morning I woke up, and checked GQ.com which is what I do around this time (MFW) to see what's new in the collections.

I'm on one

     I'm obsessed with Hip-Hop culture. I don't say this to sound cool, I say this sincerely. From a young age I would watch Jay-Z, and many other artists grind to make their way to the top. This initially helped fuel my love for Fashion, and Glamour. The videos with the expensive cars, labels, and gorgeous mansions made me yearn for a fabulous life full of these things. I started to think 'How can I make my way into this world, and still be happy?' I started to think about some of my traits, and what I'm good at, and VOILA: I decided I will become an Entertainment and Fashion Publicist. 
     Public Relations is something is very interesting to me, and I feel I will be good at. I'm organized,  I love to write, and I know how to work a room. My networking skills are very good, and I'm proud to say at the age of 16, I know just about every single party promoter, and event producers in Cleveland. I know  this is off topic, but I never really open up with my readers. I usually use my Twitter account (@JustinAlvis), but I've resorted to my first love, VC. 
     Below is BTS footage for the music video "I'm On One." This is what fueled my sudden thought to share my dreams and aspirations with you, because the video shows the grind, and the hustle put in for a 5 min. video. Drake explains how he uses his own house, which isn't even furnished, just to shoot the video. DJ Khaled explains how he came to Miami with no money and a dream. This is inspiration to me. We alll can't just come into these industries with everything handed to us. Hard work must be put in, and a smile must be kept on your face. Check the video out and become inspired.

Mama's Boyfriend

One thing that attracts me toward Kanye West's music is his ability to touch on subjects most rappers won't. His single "Mama's Boyfriend" was perfromed at the Facebook offices when he was going on his media runs for his album MBDTF, but was never put on the album. Well, the song was just released, and I wouldn't say I LOVE it, but it's a pretty nice song. Check it out and actually listen to the lyrics.

Marvin's Room

      I'm a very big fan and follower of Drake and his music. Whether it is a feature, album, or mixtape, I'm always on the edge of my seat to hear what smooth beat and amazing rhymes he's going to give us. Recently, he released his new track "Marvin's Room", and I must say I'm extremely impressed. It's the perfect song for everyone who has THAT ex. You know, the one who you just can't get over. Drake gives his amazing vocals, and then goes in like he usually does.
     The song is the first released track for his second album, "Take Care" which is to be released on October 24th, his birthday. That is entirely too long of a wait, and I'll be patiently waiting for a leak (I still will be buying the album though). Take a listen and give me your thoughts.

I've recently been on this Indie Hip-Hop and Indie British band binge and that's all I've been listening too, and The XX has been in heavy rotation. Kanye (Coachella)

As all of you know I'm an avid fan of Kanye West. When the Coachella festival was over I was quickly rushing to go see the pictures and videos of his performance. Well, I was in for a treat. I came across his performance at the end of his overall performance of his song "Lost In The World" ft. Bon Iver (who also made an appearance). Kanye comes out with all red and the dancers get to work. Absolutely amazing work, like always. My plan is that my friend Jordan and I can attend this festival. One day. One day.

I've currently been obsessing over two artists...

D-Why is a new artist that I immediately grew to love after listening to a few of his tracks off of YouTube. His single, Crazy World , is the perfect song for the approaching sunny weather. Take a listen and tell me you thoughts.

Frank Ocean is an amazing Singer/Songwriter. Frank is apart of the alternative hip-hop collective OFWGKTA who hosts other creative individuals (Tyler The Creator ring a bell?) His song, LoveCrimes has been stuck in my head this whole weekend. Once again take a listen and I'm sure you're going tobe addicted.

Rolling in the deep fire rain?

As previously said, I'm absolutely in love with Adele. Her voice, her style, and her wit brings me joy all of the time. While doing my internet browsing, I came across two interesting things that were pertaining to her.

Amazing merging artist, Gilbere Forte' remixed one of my favorite songs off of her album (21), "Set Fire To The Rain". His smooth lyrics grace the beginning of the edgy song, and really gives it even more life. The remix has been on constant replay for the last hour or so, and now I'm going to put it on my iPod. I definitely recommend you do your research and not sleep on Gilbere.

Then I seen John Legend remade her hit single "Rolling In The Deep" yesterday, and I HAD to blog it. John Legend has an amazing baritone voice and remade the song fabulously.

Balmain X Kanye?

From the candid pictures around the web, and his collaboration with them, Balmain is clearly Kanye's newest muse.

and these are just glimpses of his Balmain looks. Kanye is known for having extremely well taste and many friends within the fashion industry. Most recently, he was on his Phillip Lim binge and everywhere he went you would see him in it. Now, he's more into Balmain who he's even made a custom jacket with and announced a collection to be made by him, with them.

Mother Monster Manifesto

The video has finally arrived. Mother Monster  has debuted the very much anticipated video for the hit single "Born This Way". The critical reason the video was anticipated is because everyone knows that Gaga is predictably unpredictable. What I mean is that, she will surprise you with something different each album, song, and video, yet she stays consistent with her bizarre ,and sometimes vulgar lyrics and videos.
"Born This Way" is the perfect example of Gaga doing what she does best. The video starts out with her giving birth to her new 'race' (which I am in by the way) and it gets very graphic. She illustrates that she is Mother Monster (God) and the race she has, has no prejudices, and doesn't discriminate. As the video progresses her and her race are expressing themselves in a very leery, dark, venue. Majority of scenes, Gaga is in lingerie, displaying her large tattoos.
A lot of people will have something to say, but that just goes to show how small-minded our world is, still. I LOVE it, because as you know I am a part of her monster tribe. Take a look for yourself and let me know what you think.

Where you at?

I'll admit, I love smooth voices. I love when I can talk to someone via telephone, in person, or over computer- and they have a nice, smooth, voice. So it's not surprising that it affects my choice of music. Jennifer Hudson is the definition of soul. Although I've never had a chance to see her live in concert, every time I listen to her in my iPod, it's like she's talking directly to me. From her low bellows, to her high screams, Jen gives me all I need in an artist. Think of her as a modern day Whitney- crack for your ears (no shade, love me some Whitney). Even though she hasn't released her last album since 2008, she still has kept herself relevant by having a baby, and losing an astounding amount of weight, being the new face of Weight Watchers.

Cool Kids- I felt cool today

We all have our days when we feel cool. You know, like, too cool for school. Well today at work whilst having my daily time with me and Bertha (my Ipod) I came across a mixtape I forgot I even downloaded, "Gone Fishing"- The Cool Kids. I couldn't stop bobbing my head and for a second- no millisecond- I felt actually cool. Picture this: Snapback with sports team of choice, varsity jacket, Obey Tee, Levi 501's, Jordan 3 Retro, and a Louie Coin Purse. Yeah I had one of those daydreams. If you are in fact too school for cool (Shoutout to Pink) then this mixtape is for you.

If you thought Rude Boy was a bit too much, she's back. I love this girl. So far 10+ countries have banned it due to it's raunchy scenes. Of course, America being America let it stay. I honestly don't understand why countries are outraged because of this. Rihanna is known for her sex appeal, and her bad ass attitude, hence the title "S&M"-which would've been a red flag IMMEDIATELY if you didn't want this to be shown to children. Speaking of censoring for children- well, that's another post. Watch the video and give me your thoughts.

Constantly Overlooked

Before we discuss the song, let's discuss these bloody heels that she starts in. SCRUMPTIOUS. This is one of my favorite songs, by one of my favorite artists, Marsha Ambrosius. I've been a fan of her since Floetry days (yeah, that's her). This song is more than a R&B hit, it's spreading awareness for something that DOES happen and is often looked past. The video is about two gay males in a relationship and one being bullied to the extent that he takes his life. If you are simple-minded, or very emotional this video isn't for you. Marsha gets my highest respect for what she did. Spreading awareness using her talent, and pull. To everyone that's being bullied for WHATEVER reason- It gets better.

Girl you a killa.

I'm extremely satisfied today. 1: Finals are over and 2: this video has been in rotation for a while now. I'm in absolute love with Kanye's new video for song off of his new album Devil In a New Dress. The model he used, as always, was gorgeous and the concept was amazing. I love watching videos of women getting dolled up. I'm not sure if it was the official video, but they said that about his Monster one (which was official). Watch, get in, and share.

Adele is so fetch

Here name is Adele Laurie Blue Adkins, but you can call her Adele for short. She's a London gal who came to America and stole the hearts of millions with her smooth as chocolate voice and her (self-written) lyrics that put you into a deep thought for days. I was first introduced when I was flipping the TV and saw her perform on a TV show I can't think of right now, and was immediately captivated. Her voice embodies soul, and she never misses a beat. I was anxious to purchase her first album "19". Feburary 22nd I will be purchasing her next album "21" but until then, I will listen to her released single "Rolling in the Deep" have a listen as well.
