Ok you guys! I'm super happy right now because I've finally got some TOMS shoes. Let me tell you guys right now that they are comfortable as ever! They're extremely creative designs, and numerous designer and artist collaborations like Tyler Ramsey make up for the extremely house shoe looking, look to them. And when I get some it makes me feel so good about myself because, well, I know I'm shopping for a good cause, because every time you buy a shoe from them, TOMS sends a pair of their shoes to a child in need.I know you're probably thinking, well why shoes? Well
Many children in developing countries grow up barefoot. Whether at play, doing chores or going to school, these children are at risk:
* A leading cause of disease in developing countries is soil-transmitted diseases, which can penetrate the skin through bare feet. Wearing shoes can help prevent these diseases, and the long-term physical and cognitive harm they cause.
* Wearing shoes also prevents feet from getting cuts and sores. Not only are these injuries painful, they also are dangerous when wounds become infected.
* Many times children can't attend school barefoot because shoes are a required part of their uniform. If they don't have shoes, they don't go to school. If they don't receive an education, they don't have the opportunity to realize their potential.
That's why the shoes are very lightweight and simple. But honestly, I can wear these with anything. They don't look anything similar to what a homeless person would wear. These can be worn with a tux, and some skinny jeans for a day out on errands... As of April of 2010 TOMS has helped 600,000 children in need. Go cop a pair NOW!
