The September Issue

Ok, so I know I'm late but I finally watched the September Issue yesterday, and well all I can say is WOW, it was amazing. The work that they put into that magazine was unbelievable and to all of the fashion haters who think we do nothing but sit around and go to fashion shows. WATCH THIS MOVIE. Anna Wintour is an ICON and is a strong dedicated woman who worked her way to the top. In the movie, I personally liked Grace Coddington because she was witty and had an amazing eye for styling. Her and Anna bumped heads all the time. She stated because her and Anna entered Vogue at the same time. I wonder how did Anna rise above her. But anyway Anna went on to say how her brothers and sisters, are and I quote "amused" by her profession, like Fashion is a joke. urgh that aggravates me, but whatever. ou don't have to be a fashion lover to love this movie. You don't have to be a subscriber to Vogue. You don't have to be a woman. Whatever your preconceptions about this were, ignore them. This a movie for anybody that should be seen by everybody. So go watch it!

André Leon Talley (born October 16, 1949) is the former American editor-at-large for Vogue magazine, listed as Contributing Editor in the April 2010 masthead. Talley has been a front-row regular at fashion shows in New York, Paris, London and Milan for more than 25 years. He uses his influence to promote young fashion designers, such as John Saldivar and mentors young talent in other fields as well. His most famous pairings of late have been with designers Tracy Reese, Rachel Roy, and singer/actress Jennifer Hudson. He is known as a very close friend of pop diva Mariah Carey, fashion designer Kimora Lee Simmons, and tennis star Venus Williams. In 2007, he was ranked 45th in Out Magazine's "50 Most Powerful Gay Men and Women in America". Talley has an honorary Doctorate of Humanities from Savannah College of Art and Design, where he serves as a member of the Board of Trustees. As of November 2009, Talley is currently serving on the judging panel for America's Next Top Model.

Talley was born in Durham, North Carolina son of Alma Ruth Davis and William C.Talley. His parents left him with his grandmother Bennie Davis who raised him. who he says gave him an "understanding of luxury." After graduating from North Carolina Central University, Talley received his master's degree in French from Brown University. While at Brown, Talley befriended students from the nearby Rhode Island School of Design and often went on weekend trips to New York City. He is associated with former American Vogue editor-in-chief and Costume Institute consultant, Diana Vreeland.

In the mid 2000s, an intervention was initiated by Anna Wintour, to get Talley to lose weight. As seen on The Oprah Winfrey Show, he eventually lost a great deal of weight, and was eating healthier.

In 2008 Talley advised the future First Family on fashion, and introduced Michelle Obama to Jason Wu, from whom she bought several dresses including her inaugural gown.

Overall he's an African-American in the Fashion industry, which is one of my soft spots and he is one of my idols soo there.

Follow him on twitter

that is all.
